After -- and sometimes during

After -- and sometimes during -- disasters, the media start their navel-gazing self-analysis before the dust has even settled. I can remember late-night anchors covering Princess Di's death asking each other how they were doing with the coverage within hours of her death. The shuttle accident is no exception: NYT reports on how the media are handling the story. Predictably, Dan Rather offered up some weird ones on the day of the event.
