Our prez has changed the policy on people seeking asylum for other countries, so that if they come from Iraq or 32 other countries, they are automatically detained while their application is reviewed. The problem is, no one is revealing what those 32 countries are, and it often takes 6 months for applications to be reviewed. "It's clearly ironic that on the eve of a war to liberate the Iraqi people, we are telling people that those fleeing tyranny there will be deprived of their liberty for extended periods when they arrive here," says one human rights lawyer.
