Crazy story in the Boston Globe today:
All Leonid Komarovsky wanted to do, he says, was sell some Czech beer. The Newton businessman left home in November 2002 for a short trip to Turkmenistan, where he'd been doing business for a dozen years. By the time he returned, five months had passed, and Komarovsky had become an international figure -- arrested for allegedly aiding an assassination attempt against Turkmenistan's president, confessing on state television, and forced to author two books praising the country's dictatorial leader.Read the rest of the story.
