NYC is gearing up for

NYC is gearing up for record numbers of homeless people and families this summer (NY Times), by creating more shelters and changing legislation about temporary housing. Which I guess is easier than solving the root problems: no jobs and inflated housing costs. -amy

Well, maybe Bloomie can go pick up some inflatable homeless-people shelters from the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Besides, being homeless isn't that bad. Haven't you ever seen Sullivan's Travels? You get to watch cartoons, go to church, and hang out with Veronica Lake.

ps: the article Amy mentions features the second strange use of a common phrase I've seen in the paper today: One in 5 homeless families now has a working head of the household. -adm
