One more quick meta-post: our
One more quick meta-post: our site reached a level of hits yesterday that was, seriously, 16 times our usual level of traffic. As ADM mentioned, it was driven by readers searching for photos of K*be Bry*nt's alleged rape victim. This is significant to me for a few reasons. One is the motivation for searching the web for a photo of this woman. My guess, and this is just a guess, is that people are trying to decide for themselves if they think K*be is guilty or not. The piece of information that they seem to be searching for to make this decision is a picture of the woman involved. Which, really, has no bearing on whether her encounter with K*be was consensual or not. Maybe it's just people's morbid curiosity, but I think it's more than that. Sounds a lot like the "Well, what were you wearing?" questions that victims have often been asked.
It's also significant because the post these readers eventually found on our site is a wry commentary about the New York Post's biased reporting style. Sorry guys, no pictures. -amy
- I just want to point out that there are literally thousands of people coming here looking for a picture of this girl every day. -adm
