Is Johnny Hart's B.C. comic strip anti-Islamic?
Berkeley Breathed, creator of "Bloom County" and "Opus," a strip debuting on Sunday, discusses the strip and Johnny Hart in this in-depth profile of Breathed in the LA Times and in this chat session, also sponsored by the Washington Post.
Hart denies the the accusation, saying "This comic was in no way intended to be a message against Islam -- subliminal or otherwise. It would be contradictory to my own faith as a Christian to insult other people's beliefs." However, it's hard to find any meaning in the strip otherwise. Also, Hart is described as being deeply Christian and recently offended many readers with a strip on Easter Sunday 2001 that ended with the Biblical words "It is finished" over an image of a Menorah turning into a cross, a gesture that seemed to be an affront to Judaism.

Oh come on. It's got 'slam' at the start and a crescent.
It's a cowardly, sad attack. If he'd stood up and said 'yes, so' I'd have more respect for the man.

Haven't you ever slammed the door when you went? Maybe if there was a cell with "I" written in it before the slam...then maybe. People just look for reasons to "slam" other people...I say they need to get a life and get over it...I think the cartoon is funny...Islam slam or not...

Okay, obviously someone has an additional agenda. The *non-edited* comic has a scene prior to "SLAM". You can see that version here: http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/8255/bc1110g1kf.gif
I must say I agree with tj, however it is a curiously enigmatic comic. Regardless, let's try to post accurate information here?

Anyone who has ever used an outhouse will find this joke funny because it is just that.
